LuraySC-Deacon Frank Brown Sr, was born June 14, 1943 in Allendale County, SC, to the late Mr. T. Grant and Ms. Gertie Brown. He received his education in the public schools of Allendale County. At an early age, Frank joined Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, was a dedicated member of the Sunday School, and sang with the choir. His melodious voice would often be heard singing, “Do You Know e Man”, “Pass Me Not O Gentle Saviour” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” throughout the sanctuary during Sunday service.

Deacon Frank Brown was a member of Fairview Masonic Lodge #339, Estill, SC. He was employed with Kenlon, Allendale, South Carolina, and 55 years with Groton Plantation, Luray, South Carolina. Deacon Brown had a passion for the outdoors.

Deacon Brown is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Rosa Bell Brown, and a daughter, Jacqueline Melissa Williams. Our heavenly Father called him to rest on Friday, August 18, 2017 in Hampton, South Carolina. Deacon Brown will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

Dedicated to his memory: a devoted family, two sons: Frank Brown Jr. and Kelvin Parish Brown, both of Luray, SC, daughter: Rosella (Ronald) Calloway, San Diego, CA, seven sisters: Mattie Blake, Savannah, GA, Eva Matos, Sadie Grant, Shelia Brown, Bessie Grant, all of Jersey City, NJ, Joann Taylor (St. Mark Community), Allendale, SC, and Richard Lee Grant, New York, three brothers: Isaiah (Ammonia) Albright, Willie (Jan) Taylor and Jimmy Grant, all of Jersey City, NJ, three brothers- in-law: Bennie Williams (St. Mark Community), Allendale, SC, Willie Joe Heyward and Calvin Taylor, Allendale, SC, two sisters-in-law: Bertie (Robert) Dunlap of Philadelphia, PA, Bessie McCain of Trenton, SC, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
