COLUMBUS OHIO-Alicia Lawton passed from this life on Saturday November 18, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio.  She was born to Johnnie, Jr. and Willease Lawton on December 15, 1958 in Fremont, California, a great birthday gift to her dad whose birthday she shared. Being born into an Army family, Alicia moved many times living in France, Michigan, Indiana, Georgia, New Jersey and Kansas before the family settled in Alexandria, Virginia where she graduated from high school.  She received a BA from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, class of 1981, where she was an Art major and a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. After graduation, she was employed by the Federal government at Defense Logistics Agency first in Los Angeles, California and then in Columbus, Ohio where she was transferred in 1999. Alicia loved traveling, shopping, her church and doting on her nieces. Her brother, Ronald, and her father, Johnnie, Jr. preceded her in death. She leaves behind her mother, Willease, a brother, Johnnie (Reggie), his wife Lorac, their daughters, Grace and Chloe, and many dear cousins and aunts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association in Alicia’s memory.
