“Do not fear, for I am with you: Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God…” --Isaiah 41:10
Our beloved Chantay Lynette Myers, the daughter of the late Mr. Sylvester Myers and Ms. Willie Mae Dixson was born September 24, 1963 in Allendale County, South Carolina. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Anthony Brown. Chantay received her formal education in the public schools in Allendale County. She went on to further her education receiving an undergraduate degree from Morris College, Sumter, South Carolina. She was united into holy matrimony to the late Johnny J Gardner, and to this union one son was born, Deontate Jerome Gardner.
Chantay relocated to Orangeburg, South Carolina where she met and married John Fitzgerald Duley, and this union was blessed with a son, Cordell Fitzgerald Duley. Chantay worked in many facets of food service and health care unselfishly until her health failed.
Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32- “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment spent with them.
Chantay is survived by her husband John Duley, Orangeburg, South Carolina, two sons: Deontae Jerome Gardner, Fairfax, SC, Cordell (Kayla) Duley, Minneapolis, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Deontae Gardner Jr, Na’Cari Ellarose Duley, Londyn Gardner and Legacy Duley; two step-children: Tara Duley Davis and Elijah Duley, and three step-grandchildren: Jayceon and Jalaya Kelly, and Neveah Davis.
