Gloria Williams Obituary

Life’s Reflections

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”

~ Psalm 116:15

God gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Gloria Williams, through her parents, Mr. Leroy and Dorothy Williams, on September 4, 1965. Gloria was a happy, bubbly child who was filled with much laughter.

In 1983, Gloria graduated from Wade Hampton High School. She attended Columbia College, Columbia, SC, and the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie, Allendale, SC.

As a child, Gloria began to share her angelic voice with many. She has sung with the Williams Family, St. James Church of A Living God, Inc., the Wade Hampton High School Chorus, and as a soloist for many occasions. Gloria was employed with the United States Postal Service, Augusta, Georgia.

Later in life, she accepted Christ as her Saviour. Gloria was born into fellowship with the Old Time Way Church of God in Christ, Augusta, GA. For the past twenty-plus years, she served with the Pastor’s Aide Team, the Women’s Choir, the Inspirational Choir, the Praise Team, and the Old Time Way Gospel Singers.

Gloria was a “mover and a shaker”, and could be counted on to get things done quickly and effectively. She was swift with actions and slow to speak. Her passion for helping others still remains today.

On Thursday, February 7, 2019, God saw fit  to pluck this angelic flower to sing in His Heavenly Choir. She fought the good fight of faith, finished the race, and is now home to rest in God’s arms.

Gloria leaves to cherish her fond memories and love: her parents, Bishop Leroy Williams and Elderess Dorothy Williams; a daughter, Briana K. Williams; three brothers, Leroy Williams, Sr., Isaiah (Leana) Williams, Jackson,SC,and Wendell Williams, North Augusta, SC; five sisters, Annette Smoaks, Fairfax, SC, Dottie M. (Allen) Holly, Kansas City, MO, M. Frances Williams, Kathryn Williams, Augusta, GA, and Virginia Williams- (Thurman) Brown, North Augusta, SC; three grandchildren, Janiyah Furse, Jacobi Furse, and Jaisha Williams of the home; a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-niece and nephew; three aunts and two uncles; and a dear and beloved friend, Terry Garnett.

“ 15 As for man, his days are as grass; a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. 16For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.” ~ Psalm 103:15-16
