Sister Janie Louise Priester

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven, a time to be born and a time to die.”

Janie was born the the daughter of the late Mr. Evans Doc Morgan and the late Mrs. Polly Coath Morgan July 8, 1935 in Hampton County.She received her education at the former  North District Training School, Varnville, South Carolina,.

“A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which has been planted.”

Janie later relocated to Manhattan New York where she was employed as a telephone operator for AT&T.She  later retired as an Insurance Supervisor for the State of New York.Upon returning to South Carolina, she united with the membership of Blunt Chapel CME, Varnvillle, South Carolina. Following the death of her  sister, she became the surrogate mother  for Zyshawn Javaonte Morgan .

“A time to weep, and a time to laugh, and a time to mourn.”

Janie is preceded in death by her parents, brother , Willie Evans “Sonny” Morgan, and a sister, Geneva R. “Sister Morgan. Our heavenly father called her to rest Tuesday January 1, 2019 at  the Agape Hospice  House of the Midlands, Columbia, South Carolina.

                               “A Time to pluck up that which has been planted.”


Cherishing her memory a loving and devoted daughter, Polly(Marshall)Glover, of the home, son, Zyshawn Javonte Morgan, Hampton, SC, brothers;Harold Morgan, Bronx, NY, Melvin(Jessie) Morgan, Fort Mill, SC; Four grandchildren; Jennifer Louise  Glover, Varnville, SC, Marshall (Lakisha) Glover, Beaufort, SC, Charles (Lita), North Charleston,SC, Carolina Glover, Varnville, SC; four great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, her partner in crime,Ashton, nieces, including special nieces:Wanda Morgan, Felicia Morgan, and Patricia Morgan, nephews:Evans Morgan, Derek Morgan and Jason(Nancy) Morgan,  special grand nieces; Tashara Nikki Morgan,and Tashani Johnson ,grand nephew; Christopher “CJ” Johnson, a host of other relatives and caring  friends.
