Monnie Folk affectionally known as “Frank” was born December 25, 1931 in Bamberg County South Carolina  to the late  Mr. Willie Folk Mrs. Annie Mitchell Folk. At an early age he joined Three Mile Creek Christian Church (DOC),Ehrhardt, South Carolina . He received his formal education at the Carver School in Bamberg, South Carolina.

Monnie resided in New York for fifty years,where he was employed with the New York Housing Authority. Upon relocating to South Carolina,  he met and  married Mrs. Carrie Mae Williams in 1981. “Frank” as he was often called, reunited with the membership of Three Mile Creek Christian Church (DOC)and was employed as a Maintenance Technician for Hampton Garden Apartments until his health began to fail.Monnie was an avid tap dancer, singer and stylish dresser. In addition to his love for his family he would often express his endless love for his Blue Cutlass Supreme, “Diane.”

He is preceded in death by  a daughter, Shirley Folk, two brothers: R.C. Folk,and Willie James Folk;Two sisters: Elouise Sanders, and Margaret Black.  Our Heavenly Father called him home to rest, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Pruitt Health Care  Center, Estill, South Carolina.

Cherishing his loving memory, a loving and devoted wife; Carrie Mae Folk, of the home; Four Children: Rebecca (Jack) Cooler, and Linda Davis,Min. Bobby (Evang. Mamie) Grant and Conrad (Debbie) Grant; all of Hampton South Carolina; brother, Carl(Deloris)Folk,three sisters:Ester Brant, Syracuse, New York, Elizabeth Razor, Bamberg, South Carolina, Lucille Folk, Denmark, South Carolina; Brothers & Sisters in law: James Rodges Grant, John (Peggy)Powell, all of Hampton, South Carolina,Ben(Pearl)Powell Atlanta, Georgia,Mary (Albert) Butler, Annie Bell Powell, all of  Hampton, South Carolina,Mary Nell (Lorenzo)Wrice, Varnville,South Carolina. and Azalee Folk, a host of grands,great-grands,great-great-grandchildren,nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and caring friends.
