Mr. Samuel Jenkins Jr.
April 21, 2017Samuel, affectionately known as “Pat” was born June 28,1928, the son of the late Samuel and Jennie M. Harrison Jenkins in Hampton County, South Carolina. He was educated in the public schools of Hampton County and was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. “Pat” remained a life-long member, serving faithfully until his heal began to fail. He worked many years for Elmber Door Company, Varnville, SC and Island Home Inc, Hilton Head, SC. Samuel was united in holy matrimony to the late Mrs. Henrietta Jenkins, and this union would be blessed with five wonderful children. One son preceded him in death, Samuel Carnell Jenkins. On Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Bamberg Rehabilitation Center in Bamberg, SC, he peacefully slipped away to his heavenly home, surrounded by his family whom he loved so very dearly. He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Sandra (Arthur) Medley, Fairbanks, AK, Blondie Hines, Varnville, SC, Patsy(Nathaniel) Smith and Linda Givens, all of Hampton, SC; adopted son, Randolph “My Boy” Henderson; one sister, Mrs. Nell Frazier, Hampton, SC; brother-in-law, Roosevelt Fennell, Yemassee, SC; seven grandchildren, Nedria Hines, reared in the home, Alfonso Medley, Missouri, MI, Anthony Givens and Ashley Gives, both of Charlotte, NC, Samuel Smith, Columbia, SC, Kyenna(Keith) Hamilton, Hilton Head, SC, and Natalie(Korwin) Leigh, Atlanta, GA; eight great-grandchilen; Jamari, Micah, Justin, J’abriel, Kylie, Axiver, Kendall and Joseph, a host of cousins, other relatives, and caring friends; and four devoted neighbors, Juanita Hicks, Bishop Andrew Mole, Margaret Collins, and Henry Fields.
