“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing’.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV

Nancy  was born the daughter of the late Deacon Albert and Mrs. Cora Mixson Harvey on December 16, 1946, in Hampton County, South Carolina. Seeking divine guidance at an early age, Nancy joined Second Baptist Church, Brunson, South Carolina. She subsequently later joined Jackson Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Brunson, South Carolina, where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher until her health began to decline.Nancy was a 1964 graduate of the former North District Training School.
Sister Nancy was joined into holy matrimony to the late James C. Kennedy, and this union was blessed with two children. She later met and married the late Mr. Henry L. Williams, and this union was blessed with three children.
Nancy had a profound love for children, and she stressed the importance of getting an education. She instilled these values into her own children and grandchildren. Nancy touched the lives of many children she taught who still hold her dear to their hearts today. She retired in 2000 from Hampton County School District One, which includes the public school system of New York City, totaling 29 years.
