Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-11 (KJV)
Tray Namen Long, age 24, son of Nicole and the late Tracy Long, was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on May 3, 1995.
Seeking God’s direction and guidance, he joined the Jackson Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Brunson, SC, where he served as an usher. He also attended the Allendale Community Church of Allendale, SC.
He was a 2014 graduate of the Allendale Fairfax High School in Allendale, SC.
Tray will be missed physically, but his life and legacy of love and humility will always be remembered. He was a young man of few words but a great thinker. He was “an old soul”, a visitor of this world, an angel of light that God allowed to be here for a short time.
He was preceded in death by his father, godmother, Minnie Ritter, and grandfather, Clyde Taylor. Tray transitioned on Monday, June 17, 2019.
Tray leaves loving memories that will be cherished forever as his family celebrates his life: loving and devoted mother, Nicole Long (Warren Rice); three brothers, including, Tremaine and Camron; two sisters, Sara and Ciera; sister-in-law, Amanda; a loving and devoted grandmother, Mrs. Bobbie Taylor; a devoted uncle, Mr. Angus Ritter; godbrother, Lamont (Shaquanda) Sanders; and a host of other family and friends.
