Bro. John Henry Lee

Mr. John Henry Lee was born September 12, 1940, in Allendale County, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Jessie Lee, Sr., and Mrs. Doreatha Thompson Lee.At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and became a baptized member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfax, South Carolina. He served faithfully as a trustee.
As a skilled electrician, John was employed for several years at Powerline Electric in Raleigh, North Carolina. He later took a position closer to home with Nix’s Floral Wholesale in Hampton, South Carolina. John worked at Nix’s for over 20 years before accepting his last place of employment at Savannah River Site where he worked until he became disabled.
He was a member of Gifford Lodge #359, Gifford, South Carolina.
On April 18, 1960, John was united in holy matrimony to the former Evelena Haynes. To this union, four children were born.
On Sunday, July 21, 2019, he was called home to be with the Lord. He was well loved and will be greatly missed.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three older brothers: Perstine Lee, Jessie Lee, Jr., and Melvin Lee.
John leaves loving memories that will be cherished forever by: his loving and devoted wife of 59 years: Evelena Haynes; two sons: John Kenneth Lee, Allendale, SC; and Richard Vincent (Betty) Lee, Williston, SC; four daughters: Lynfran Elizabeth Lee, Hampton, SC; Angela Marie (Scott) Williams, Brunson, SC; Lashanda Renee Smalls, Brunson, SC, and Louvenia Nancozy Ray Platts, Knightdale, NC. One sister: Rebecca Sims, Washington, DC. Seven sisters-in-laws: Elvie Lee, Fairfax, SC; O’Banner (Roosevelt) Mitchell, Hempstead, NY; Maebelle Wright, Greensboro, NC; Linda Williams, Carolyn Williams, and Minnie Williams, all of Brunson, SC; Elease Butler, Estill, SC; one brother-in-law: Henry (Patricia) Williams, Brunson, SC; six grandchildren: Raheem Milledge, Ashley Bennett, and Dreshawn Williams, all of Brunson, SC; LS II Keishanda Taylor, US Navy, Guam; Christian Glover and Malena Patterson, both of Knightdale, NC; devoted cousin: Rudolph Brunson, Brunson, SC; devoted extended family: Evangelist Lillian Walker Harvey, Devondra Harvey, Yolanda Harris and the Walker Family; Hampton, SC; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sympathizing friends.
