Deacon Timothy Brant, Sr., the son of the late Mr. Johnny Brant, Sr and Mrs. Flossie Holman Platts Brant was born on November 25, 1949 in Hampton County, South Carolina. He received his education in the Hampton County public school system. At an early age, Deacon Brant accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and joined the Jackson Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Ms. Eunice Mew on September 25, 1972. Their union was blest with two loving children, Timothy, Jr., and Hannah.
Deacon Brant was employed with the South Carolina Department of Transportation for 30 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was an avid hunter and farmer, who spent countless hours manicuring his garden. Deacon Brant participated in the Clemson Exchange Agricultural Program for many years.
He answered the call as Deacon and was ordained on January 29, 2012. He was dedicated to his church, and especially to the youth. He served as Director of the Youth Choir and prioritized the children first in all of the church activities.
On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, surrounded by his family, Deacon Brant made his peaceful transition to be with the Lord.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
He will forever be lovingly remembered by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Mrs. Eunice Brant; a loving daughter, Hannah Brant, of Augusta, GA; son, Timothy (Lanette) Brant, Jr., of Clarksville, TN; six grand-children, Titus, Timia, including four devoted grandsons reared in the home; Joshua, Tyler, DJ and Manny; one great-grandson, Emanuel Washington, IV; sister, Hannah B. Priester, of Varnville, SC; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dottie Platts and Ms. Beatrice Brant, both of Savannah, GA, and Mrs. Lucinda Platts, of Brunson, SC; brother-in-law, Woodrow (Patricia) Mew, of Scotia, SC; special friends, Lee Marsh, of Fairfax, SC, Danny Morris, of Hampton, SC; numerous nieces, including a devoted niece, Flossie Glover, nephews, cousins and a multitude of sympathizing friends.
