Erica Vicky Jenkins

Erica Victoria Hicks Jenkins was born on June 24, 1967, to the late Johnny and Lucille Green Hicks in Hampton County,  South  Carolina.  On  the  morning  of  April  1, 2023, God peacefully called our angel home to rest. At an early age, Erica joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Early Branch, South Carolina and served as a  member of the choir. She received her education in the Hampton County  public  school  system  as  a  graduate  of  Wade Hampton  High  School  “Class  of  1985”.

 Erica  then furthered  her  studies  at  Voorhees  College,  Denmark, South  Carolina,  where  she  received  a Bachelor  of   Science Degree in Business Administration. After  spending  most  of  her  career  as  a  Clinical Administrative Assistant, Erica chose to follow her heart, earned  the  title  author,  and  published  two  books, “Writing  from  the  Heart”  and  “Writing  from  the  Heart 2”. Erica’s pride was in her books and family and as an author,  she  shared  her  passion  for  writing  with  us  for many years. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Erica. She  had  an  uncanny  ability  to  find  happiness  in  her daily activities.

Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Erica  was  preceded  in  death  by  her  parents,  two brothers,  Robert  Green  and  Johnnie  Hicks,  and  a sister, Annette Givens. Her kind spirit and contagious smile will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: three loving sisters, Mrs. Deloris Doctor,  Mrs.  Janet  (Darnell)  Mitchell,  and  Ms.  Diane Hicks,  all  of  Varnville,  SC;  five  brothers,  Mr.  Jimmy (Debra)  Hicks,  Mr.  Johnny  Shanks,  and  Mr.  Kenneth  Davis, all of Varnville, SC, Mr. Alphonso (Tish) Hicks, of Fort Washington, MD, and Mr. Jake (Rose) O’Banner, of Estill, SC; one brother-in-law, Mr. Bobby Givens, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Judy Hicks; aunt, Mrs. Juanita Hicks, of Varnville, SC; one uncle, James Geter, of Gainesville, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
