Matthew 11:28:30 James Melvin Wright, Jr affectionately known as “Melvin Jr” was born on July 22, 1972, in Hampton County, South Carolina, to James Melvin Wright, Sr and Loran Owens Wright. On Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the age of 50, Melvin Jr went home to be with the Lord at Trident Medical Center, North Charleston, South Carolina. Melvin attended Wade Hampton High School in Varnville, South Carolina. He was a loyal and dedicated Machinist at Spencer Industries for many years. Melvin was a lifelong New York Yankee fan. He loved cars, especially his red and black Firebirds, and his caps. Melvin relaxed by listening to the Blues, “the oldies” which were sung by B.B. King, Billie Holiday and Ray Charles, to name a few. He was an avid lover of Martin and Sanford and Son. Melvin will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the many lives he touched. Being an average jokester, he could make things humorous even during the darkest times. Melvin leaves to cherish fond memories, his beloved daughter, Meldeshia Wright; granddaughter, Armoni Roberts; parents, James Melvin Wright, Sr and Loran Wright; stepmother, Sherri Wright; six siblings, Melinda Wright (James), Tony Wright, Kevin Wright, Chris Hayes, John Hayes (Kim) and Amanda Hicks (Gene); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many sympathizing friend
