Jay Price Obituary

Brother Jay PrIce, Jr , was born the son of the late Mr. Jay Price, Sr., and the late Mrs. Ida Mae Bradley on June 11, 1939. Seeking God’s  direction and guidance, he joined the Miller Swamp Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfax, South Carolina, where he served as a trustee and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church brotherhood. Jay received his education in the public schools of Allendale County. 

He was a farmer most of his life and employed with the South Carolina Forestry Department and Allendale County Recycling Department. He was a past master and member of Masonic Lodge #53 Allendale, South Carolina; Prince Hall Consistory #282 Barnwell, South Carolina; past Potentate of Jeddah Temple #160 Orangeburg, South Carolina. Jay served on the Allendale County Hospital Board and the Town Council of Sycamore, South Carolina.

Jay will be remembered for his love of his family and friends.He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one grandson; and one nephew. Our heavenly father called Jay from labor to reward on January 17, 2021, at Trident Medical Center, North Charleston, South Carolina.

Jay leaves to  cherish his memory: two  daughters, Johnnie Mae Johnson of Allendale, South Carolina, and Diane Robert) Dicks of  Atlanta,Georgia; two sons,  Alphonso Bamberg and Corinth Ritter, both of Fairfax, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Mae Gilbert of Allendale, South Carolina, and Betty Ann Jones of Barnwell, South Carolina; brother, Tony Price, Korea; three aunts, Rosena Robinson of Fairfax, South Carolina, Jannie S. Smart of Lakeland, Florda, and Linbern (Lonza) Henderson of Waynesboro, Georgia; a loving and dedicated companion, Helen Ritter and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family Jacqueline Tolbert and her daughter and  grandson, and  other  relatives  and sympathizing friends.
