John Collins

John Fitzgerald Collins was born on May 22, 1964 in Florence, South Carolina to the late John Wesley Collins and Youclet Thurma (Bennett) Collins. He received his education in the public schools of Florence County, South Carolina. At an early age, he joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina. He would later reside in Miami, Florida where he was employed as a skilled laborer. John is preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley Collins and Youclet Thurma (Bennett) Collins, and a brother, LeRoy Chandler Collins. On Sunday, August 2, 2020, at the Summerville Hospice House in Summerville, South Carolina, John departed this earthly life to take his heavenly rest.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: one daughter, Brandilyn Bell of Columbia, SC; one sister, Miranda Collins Jones of Yemassee, SC; two aunts, Dottie Platts of Savannah, GA and Jacqueline Wingate of Florence, SC, and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
