John H. "Bozo" Rice

 John Henry Rice was born in Allendale County, South Carolina, November 26, 1944, to the late Mr. William Rice and Mrs. Iva Lee Rice. He was first united into Holy Matrimony to the late Mrs. Carolyn Young Rice and later to Mrs. Lucille Mew Rice. John was knowns as, “Bozo” to many. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Young Rice; brother, Wallace Rice and brother- in-law, Willie Williams. He departed this life on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital, Savannah, Georgia. His beautiful life will forever be remembered in the lives of his devoted wife, Lucille Rice; loving children, Felicis (Johnny) Reid, Karen Rice-Gibson, Rodell (Lakenya) Rice, Kelvin (Fonda) Mew, Charmeine (McKever) Rice-Russell, Lee (Rosalyn) Mew, Michael (Juanave) Mew, and Ellis Mew. His adoring family; sister, Willie Mae Williams; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joanne Mew, John Henry Mew, Betty (Wilbur) Smith, Larry Cave, and   William Cave; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
