Johnson Mew

Johnson Mew was born the son of the late Mr. Thomas Mew and Ms. Lula Redenburg on July 1, 1937 in Allendale County, South Carolina. On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Pruitt Health Care Center in Estill, South Carolina, our heavenly Father called him home to rest. He received his education in the public schools of Allendale County and was a member of the Miller Swamp Baptist Church, Fairfax, South Carolina. Johnson resided in Brooklyn, New York for many years and later relocated to South Carolina in 1975. He was employed many years with Nix’s Nursery, Hampton, South Carolina and D & S Vending (Dixie Narco) Williston, South Carolina. He enjoyed fishing and landscaping. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: two daughters, Sharon Mew, Allendale, South Carolina and Deloris Thompson Mew, Atlanta, Georgia; a devoted and loving brother, William Mew, Brooklyn, New York; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.
