Leroy Buckner, Sr was born on January 14, 1943, in Colleton
County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Walter Buckner and Mrs.
Julia Davis-Buckner. He was a member of Saint John Baptist
Church in Varnville, South Carolina. Leroy was educated in the
public schools of Colleton County, South Carolina. Leroy was a
machine operator at J.P. Stevenson (CCX) in Walterboro, South
Carolina for over 30 years.
“I finished my course; I kept the faith”.
On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, Leroy was called home to rest
to be with the LORD, while at his residence in Aiken, South
Carolina.
“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,
which the LORD, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day”.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ann Buckner, a son,
Windell Bryant and a daughter, Cynthia (Sidney) Gray along with
four brothers and six sisters.
Cherishing his loving memory are: his three daughters, Terry (John)
Wright, of Estill, SC, Latoya Buckner, of Columbia, SC, and
Marquita (Wayne) Ladson, of Aiken, SC; one son, Leroy Buckner,
Jr., of the home; a loving mother-in-law, Polly Bryant, of Hampton,
SC; sister, Dorothy Davis, of Islandton, SC; two brothers, David
Buckner, of Ashton, SC, Joseph Buckner, of Lodge, SC; five
sisters-in-law, Louise Bryant, of Hampton, SC, Joanne Bryant, of
Opa-Locka, FL, Mary Bryant, of Charleston, SC, Ruby Smith, of
Hampton, SC, Brenda Ann Hair, of Columbia, SC; three brothers-in
-law, Talbert Glover, of Lodge, SC, Leroy Bryant, of Patterson, NJ,
and Clifford (Daphne) Bryant, of Columbia, SC; a treasured grandson
and granddaughter, Dwayne Ladson and Mikayla Ladson; a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
