Lucille “Lossy” Brown Herndon was born February 16, 1938, to the late Eugene and Nora Victoria Dobson Brown in Hampton County, South Carolina. At an early age, she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and joined the Long Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Gifford, South Carolina.
“Lossy” received her education in the public schools of Gifford, Hampton County, South Carolina, and later relocated to Apex, North Carolina. She met and married the love of her life, the late Agusta Herndon. Upon returning to South Carolina in 1994, she united with Church of God Varnville. Lucille was employed as a home health aide for private homes.
Throughout her life’s journey, Lucille, gained many friends near and far.She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and five siblings: Irabelle, Marie, Ethel, Etha Mae and Eugene Brown, Jr. Lucille transitioned on January 2, 2019, at her residence.
Cherishing her loving memories: two loving children, Anthony (Terry) Herndon and Carolyn (Andrew) Smith; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four sisters: Hazel Ishmal, Mellef Williams, Dora Ginn, and Nora (Frank) Moreland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and caring friends
