Sister Miriam Sanders Burch was born the beloved daughter of the late Bishop Benjamin Sanders, Jr., and Mother Verna Grandson Sanders, on March 28, 1932 in Hampton County, South Carolina .Her education journey began in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina and Scriven County, Georgia.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
She attended the United Pentecostal House Of Prayer in Brooklyn, New York, under the leadership of Mother Lucille Allen. Miriam was a child care specialist and was employed as a quality control inspector for Warp Industries, Chicago, Illinois. She was married to the late Mr. Willie Lee Burch, and five children were born to this union.

Miriam loved to attend Bible study, sing hymns from her childhood, and listen to Mahalia Jackson. Her favorite pastimes included: watching Gun Smoke, soap operas, eating pizza at Woolworth’s on State Street in Chicago, cooking, bingo, reading the newspaper, and watching the news. She was also a thrift shop fanatic and well versed in the law.

Waiting to greet her at heavens gate are: her husband, Mr. Willie Burch; daughter, Peggy Burch; parents, Bishop Benjamin and Mother Verna Sanders; five siblings, Verna Mae Patterson, Debra Holloman, Freddie Mae Sanders, Aaron Sanders, and Naomi Sanders.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Miriam’s soul took flight on August 14, 2019 at the Harmony Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Chicago, IL.

Thomas, Austin Burch, and Ian Burch; five brothers, Ben Sanders, Jr., of Decatur, GA, Moses Sanders of Columbia, SC, Samuel Sanders of Dover, DE, Bishop Daniel (Apostle Ruth) Sanders of Summerville,SC, and Carey (Janie) Sanders of Early Branch, SC; one sister, Lillian Murdaugh of Hampton, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
