Miriam Burch Obituary

Sister Miriam Sanders Burch was born the beloved daughter of the late Bishop Benjamin Sanders, Jr., and Mother Verna Grandson Sanders, on March 28, 1932 in Hampton County, South Carolina .Her education journey began in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina and Scriven County, Georgia.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
She attended the United Pentecostal House Of Prayer in Brooklyn, New York, under the leadership of Mother Lucille Allen. Miriam was a child care specialist and was employed as a quality control inspector for Warp Industries, Chicago, Illinois. She was married to the late Mr. Willie Lee Burch, and five children were born to this union.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Miriam loved to attend Bible study, sing hymns from her childhood, and listen to Mahalia Jackson. Her favorite pastimes included: watching Gun Smoke, soap operas, eating pizza at Woolworth’s on State Street in Chicago, cooking, bingo, reading the newspaper, and watching the news. She was also a thrift shop fanatic and well versed in the law.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Waiting to greet her at heavens gate are: her husband, Mr. Willie Burch; daughter, Peggy Burch; parents, Bishop Benjamin and Mother Verna Sanders; five siblings, Verna Mae Patterson, Debra Holloman, Freddie Mae Sanders, Aaron Sanders, and Naomi Sanders.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
