Patricia Wright

Ben Calvin Smart, Sr., and was reared in the home of the late Edward Smart. Patricia believed in God, and it showed at an early age when she was baptized at Jackson Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She served in the ministry tirelessly throughout the years as an assistant youth choir director, praise dance director, and member of the usher board. Additionally, she was a member of Nazarene Baptist Union #1, where she served faithfully. Patricia is most memorable for her beautiful smile and big heart.She was an honors graduate of Allendale-Fairfax High School Class of 1977. She furthered her education at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC.Patricia was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Ricky Wright on July 17, 1992, and this union was blessed with six children. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rickania Wright.Patricia was employed with the Allendale County School District for 11 years. She thoroughly enjoyed giving positive messages to students and challenging them to be the very best they could be while never forgetting God.  

On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Patricia transitioned from Earth to eternity, holding to God’s unchanging hands.

Patricia leaves to cherish loving memories: her beloved husband of the home, Ricky Wright; two sons: Cedrick (Zacobia) Ritter of Greenville, SC, and Raheem Wright of Varnville, SC; two daughters: Rickeidre Wright of Varnville, SC, and Ceyona Wright of Jacksonville, FL; one stepchild: T. Wright of Columbia, SC; eight sisters: Deloris (William) Brown, Jackie (Willie) Outing, Queenie Gregory, Lori Creech, Diane (Rusto) Ashe, Rosie (Charles) McCray, Cathy Idleburg, and Dorothy Allen; ten brothers: Darvin (Phyllis) Robins, Jr., Terry Robins, Johnny (Laurie) Gardner, Allan Robins, Larry (Shirley) Heyward, Henry Ellis, Terrell Smart, Ben Calvin Smart, Jr., Anthony (Edith) Ogleetree, and Keith (Patricia) Idleburg; ten grandchildren: Ty’Liq Ritter, Malachi Ritter, Tymira Ritter, Ny’Rhionna Wright, Micah Ritter, Logan Capers, Matthias Ritter, Bailee Ellis, Amir-Alexzander Wright, and Mataya Ritter; nine aunts; two uncles; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; children reared as her own: Shaniqua Gregory, Myecha Miley, Tawanda Smart, Phillip Ackerman, Mario Washington, Franklin Dunbar, Stedman Miley, and James Riddle; special cousins: Reatha Mae Miley, Nancy White, Vanessa Amaker, and Frank Allen, Jr.; special friends: Edna Bacon and Willie Lou Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and loving friends.
