Robert Vincent Dunbar was born on June 2, 1959, to the late Mother Virie Black Dunbar and Ionious Dunbar. He departed this life on Friday, January 22, 2021 in Hampton County, South Carolina.At an early age, Vincent became a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina. Vincent graduated from Wade Hampton High School “Class of 1977”. He later joined the United States Army to serve his country for many years and later discharged with full military honors. Afterward, Vincent worked in construction as a brick mason and drove trucks.
Those who knew Vincent, knew that he was one of a kind. He was well known and played a role in everyone’s life and in his own little way was loved by everyone he encountered. His favorite radio station was Big Dog Radio, where he was known as “Vee Dee”.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his beloved brother, Ray Vernon Dunbar and his uncle, Walter Monroe Black.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving son, TyAnthony (Shauntae) Dunbar; four grandchildren, Paris, JaMia, Shidaysia and Qushawn; one sister, Debbie Brown; one special niece, Ebony Williams; two aunts, Clara Black and Maggie Lawton; two uncles, James (Bubba) Black and Clarence (Neil) Black; a special devoted friend, Catherine Jones; and a host of family, relatives and friends.
