“Psalm 30:5”, states that in the life of every believer, weeping would endure for a night and although some nights may last for only a few hours, while others may seem to span a lifetime, in the same verse, a promise is given for every believer who leans upon the unfailing arms of the Almighty God. Joy is sure to come in the morning. On January 8, 1944, Mr. Roy Brant, Jr. was born in Hampton County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Roy Brant, Sr. and the late, Mrs. Nina Bell Johnson Brant. Roy was known to many as “Sunny”, loved life and was loved by all that knew him. He received his education from North District Training School. For over 15 years, Roy was a dedicated and loyal employee of Hampton Regional Medical Center (formerly, the Hampton General Hospital),Varnville, South Carolina. He furthered his career and worked with the Town of Varnville Public Works Department for five years. He retired after 30 plus years, working with the Varnville Area Housing Corporation. Morning came for Brother Roy Brant, Jr. and he received his reward of eternal joy, on January 22, 2022, at the Hampton Regional Medical Center. Roy is preceded in death by five sisters, Ellen Crittington, Helen Brant, Shirley Brant, Bernice Lingard, and Estella Smith; three brothers, Robert Johnson, Leon Brant and Otis C. Brant. He leaves behind to cherish fond and everlasting memories: his nephew of the home and caregiver, Jamie Crittington; Ulysee Green, Jr. reared in the home; one aunt, Margaret (Adam) Major, all of Varnville, SC; nephews, Walter (Mary) Crittington, Jr., Eugene (Tina) Crittington, Leander (Lakeisa) Green, and Chad (Detra) Green, all of Varnville, SC; Albert Crittington, of Brunson, SC, James (Arlene) Crittington, of Guyton, GA, and Nathaniel (Latevia) Green, of Kentucky; nieces, Annette (Michael) Smith, of Varnville, SC, Dafiney Green Butler, of Beaufort, SC, Tina (Lorenzo) Chatman, of Columbia, SC, Eva Williams and Brenda Brant, both of Varnville, SC; special and devoted family and friends, Tara Williams, Terrill Williams, Sherman Williams, Barbara Mixson, Alma Hollaway, and Richard (Lillette) Speaks, all of Varnville, SC, Lee Morris, Eugene Jenkins, both of Varnville, SC, Leon and Liz Walker, of Rincon, GA, Robert Warren, of Hampton, SC, Diane Washington, Ruffin, SC and Issac Crosby, of Islandton, SC. And a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and sympathizing friends.
