Sgt. James Brooker Obituary

SGT James A. Brooker was born in Hampton County, July 17, 1964, the son of the late Mr. Willie James Priester and Mrs. Beulah (Robert, Sr.) Davis. He received his education in the public schools of Hampton County and was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School in 1982. Brooker was a member of Revelation Ministries, Fairfax, South Carolina, where he served as an armor bearer for the pastor. He served in the United States Army. James Brooker’s law enforcement career spanned over a 15- year tenure including the South Carolina Department of Corrections for seven years. In addition to, the Hampton County Sheriff Office in 2004 where he served with Road Patrol, the Narcrotics Division, as POC for the South Carolina Sex Offender Registry Team, Crime Scene Investigations SCCJA in March 2014, and finally as Sergeant since 2008. He was married to the former Barbara Henderson. 
Brooker is preceded in death by his father, Willie James Priester, mother, Beaulah Davis, stepfather, Robert Davis, Sr., and uncles, Allen Davis and Henry Davis. 
Our Heavenly Father summoned him to rest, March 7, 2020, at Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, Georgia. 
Brooker leaves to cherish fond memories: two loving daughters, Kashema Gibbs (Richard) and Lesha Brooker, along with her mother, Beverly Johnson; siblings, Joanne Grant of Hampton, SC, Carolyn Brooker of Hampton, SC, Gwen Pressley of Islandton, SC, Loretta Capers(Derrick) of Early Branch, SC, Reverend R. D. Davis (Kristie) of Raleigh, NC, Drepeher Davis (Kendra) of Hampton, SC, Janice (Walter) Richardson, Patricia Priester, and Rena Robinson; aunts, Peggy Davis Powell of Hampton, SC, Johnnie Mae Young (Ernest) of Aiken, SC, Debra Garvin of New Jersey, and Audrey Davis Cooper of New Jersey; uncles, Larry Davis (Betty) of Varnville, SC, and Eddie Davis of Hampton, SC; two grandchildren, Anthony Gibbs and Richard Gibbs, Jr.; special friend, Tamika Capers of Hinesville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives and caring friends.
