A Life We Cherish and Remember Bro. Ulysee Green Sr. ~ 1951-2020

Today we celebrate the life of a loving dedicated father and brother. These words summarizes the life of Ulysee Green Sr. who was born July 1, 1951 to Ms. Dorothy Mae Green. His capturing smile, his calm and gentle manners, as well as his kindness and consideration shall always abide in the minds and hearts of those who knew and loved him.

“ I shall pass through this world but once, any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”

Ulysee was educated in the public schools of Hampton County. At an early age he became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hampton, South Carolina. He was gainfully employed by Collum’s Lumber in Allendale, South Carolina for 23 years. Later in life a day of joy and unity occurred in his life when he was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Annie V. Crittington Green. This union was blessed with six children and eleven grandchildren as well as the abundance and the gift of family.In his spare time Ulysee enjoyed fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ms. Dorothy Mae Green and a brother, Mr. Danny Joe Green; a sister in law, Mrs. Florrie Williams; two brothers in law, Mr. Clarence Newton and Mr. Sammie Frazier.

On Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the Hampton Regional Medical Center, Ulysee left behind his mortal world and transitioned into eternal peace to rest with God.

On this side of eternity he leaves a devoted family to cherish his everlasting memories: a loving daughter, Ms. Dafiney Green Butler of Beaufort, SC; five sons, Mr. Nathaniel (Latevia) Green of Killeen, Texas, Mr. Ulysee Green Jr, Mr. Leander (Lakeisa) Green, Mr. Chad(Detra) Green, and Mr. Jamie Crittington, all of Varnville, SC; eleven grandchildren; five sisters, Ms. Viviann Newton, Ms. Johnnie Mae Green, Ms. Mazie Frazier, Mrs. Brenda (Bobby) Grant and Ms. Diane Williams, all of Varnville, SC; brother, Mr. Charles Williams of Varnville, SC; sister in law, Annette (Michael) Smith of Varnville, SC; four brothers in law, Mr. Walter Crittington Jr. of Varnville, SC, Mr. James (Arleane) Crittington of Guyton, Ga, Mr. Eugene (Tina) Crittington of Varnville, SC and Mr. Albert Crittington of Brunson SC. A special and devoted friend, Ms. Trina Wilson of Varnville, SC, a loyal friend, Mr. Desport “Rooster” Mays of Varnville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sympathizing friends.
