Mrs. Vivian Louise Williams Newton was born to the late Mr. Nathaniel Williams and Ms. Dorothy Mae Green on May 29, 1948.
She was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, and at an early age, she confessed Jesus as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Samaritan Baptist Church. Vivian served with the Usher Board, the Senior Choir, the Pastor ’s Aide Club, and the Women’s Auxiliary.
She was married to the late Mr. Clarence Newton, and this union was blessed with six children. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence Newton, daughter, Jennifer Newton, and brothers, Danny Joe Green and Ulysee Green, Sr.
On October 13, 2020, Vivian was called home to rest at Hampton Regional Medical Center. She leaves to cherish fond memories: five children, Shirl (Oscar) Mole of Charleston, SC, Anthony (Brandi) Williams of Aurora, CO, Letitia (Bernard) Ferguson of Walterboro, SC, Cordelia Newton of Varnville, SC, and Shanta (Dwayne) Stevenson of Tarboro, SC; four sisters, Johnnie Mae Green, Mazie Frazier, Brenda (Bobby) Grant, and Diane Williams, all of Varnville, SC; one brother, Charles Williams of Varnville, SC; sisters-in-law, Cattie Lee (John) Fields of Estill, SC, Deloris Newton of Varnville, SC; brothers-in-law, Kenyon (Mary) Newton of Estill, SC, Joe Newton of Allendale, SC, and Samuel Green of Pocotaligo, SC; Aunt Sadie Green of Estill, SC; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.
