William Aiken, affectionately known as Bill, lived a full and happy life of 95 years; he made his transition to be with the Lord on September 22, 2019 at home in South Carolina.
Born on August 22, 1924 to Lula William in Gifford, South Carolina.  At the tender age of 2 years old, Bill was adopted by Frank Aiken, relocating to Jersey City, New Jersey. Bill was educated in the Jersey City School System.
In 1944, Bill met Ruby Ferrell and united in holy matrimony in June 1944; out of this union 3 children were born, William Earl, George Lee and Diann Marie.
At the age of 17, Bill worked 4 years for the US Naval Base in Bayonne, NJ driving trucks; that was when he realized his passion and love as a truck driver. The next 10 years he had various company jobs driving truck.  In 1974 until his retirement in 1998 for Rambach Chemical Company.
Bill was outgoing and a fun loving person. He enjoyed socializing, crossword puzzles and dancing. In his younger years he loved drawing and painting.
Bill was predeceased by his mother Lula Williams, adopted father and mother Frank and Rita Aiken, son William Earl Aiken, 4 sisters, 5 brothers, daughters-in-law Jean and Betty Aiken, Ethel and Hattie Mae Williams.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of 74 years, Ruby Aiken (NJ), son George Aiken (NJ), daughter Diann Hanna (DE) sister Thelman Johnson (NJ), 2 brothers Leroy Aiken (NJ) Stanley Aiken (VA) 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grands, 5 great-great grands, a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.  Two special nieces and a nephew, Jackie Lee, Carolyn and James Risher (SC), who also became Bill’s caretakers.
